    An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Agriculture to join our ambitious team at Northumberland College. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Agriculture Lecturer who can use this energy to inspire learners to have lifelong careers in this key sector

    The role is based at Northumberland Colleges’ Kirkley Hall campus sited at

    Ponteland. The curriculum area offers a range of full-time and part-time courses that encompasses agriculture, countryside and environment, floristry, horticulture, military and outdoor adventure.

    The Agriculture curriculum benefits from a working farm and extensive woods and natural environments of the Kirkley estates. The courses also have access to local farms and the Northumberland countryside along with a good working relationship with local employers. It is very much our desire to build up the student numbers at Kirkley and fully utilise the facilities on offer as well as continue to develop the resource. The Land and Outdoor Academy has approximately 25 full time staff complimented by a number of part time staff who support specialist delivery within the curriculum area.

    The successful candidate will be an experienced, committed, and passionate individual with a strong Agriculture background and knowledge. They will mainly teach programmes up to level three, so a minimum of a level 4 agriculture qualification is required. They will plan, promote, deliver, monitor and evaluate the progress of their courses and learners and will create and cultivate strong links with the industry.

    If you feel this opportunity is for you, you must be passionate about teaching agricultural education and be part of reshaping and developing an innovative curriculum which leads to outstanding outcomes. The role includes teaching technical and work-based qualifications. You will also be responsible for ensuring the students have an exciting fully inclusive enrichment programme which supports wider skill development. The role also includes supporting the management of the programmes of study within the curriculum.
